The Duke Blue Devils faced the Ole Miss Rebels in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl on Jan. 2, 2025, at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.
Ole Miss, ranked 16th nationally, secured a decisive victory over Duke by a final score of 52–20.
Duke entered the game with a 9–3 record but faced significant challenges due to the absence of key players. Starting quarterback Maalik Murphy and running back Star Thomas have entered the transfer portal and are not participating in the bowl game.

Ole Miss, which also held a 9-3 record heading into the game, was led by quarterback Jaxson Dart, who opted to play in the bowl game despite declaring for the NFL Draft. Dart’s performance was instrumental in the Rebels’ offensive success, contributing to their substantial point total. The Rebels’ offense, which ranked second in college football with an average of 521.5 yards per game, proved too much for the Blue Devils’ defense. Additionally, Ole Miss’ defense, which was strong at containing the running attack, limited Duke’s rushing attack, which averaged 96.5 yards per game.
